The Question and Answer Epidemia

The Question and Answer virus has invaded the blogosphere.

I have noticed that more and more blogs are having a question and answer portion more often. There’s even someone who gave a 1 year SWAMP Hostgator hosting just for the best question. I don’t know their main reason why they do that. If you haven’t noticed it yet, try to visit this blog, this blog, this blog, this blog, and this blog. Actually there are still more but I don’t know them anymore or I have forgetten them already.

The possible purpose:

  1. To give link love.
  2. For readers know them more.
  3. To give incentive (some do give prizes).
  4. To attract more commentators.
  5. To fill the gaps (they might be just running out of post ideas).
  6. Just for fun.

I don’t know if their reason is one of those. I have already participated in some Q&A and I have given a link love but I havent yet experienced having a Q&A here in my blog (maybe soon). What do you think is the essence of Q&A? Does it help in blogging and marketing?

Yeah maybe it builds readership and get to know each other more. But for me I have basically done that because I was busy./

  2. I personally love Q & A posts. That is, reading them… I have never wrote one myself.

In every Q & A I read, I find 2-3 questions that I had also. Many other bloggers are pondering about the same things that I am, or you are.

Plus, their are all those other benefit you mentioned to the blogger hosting the Q & A.

Personally I love questions and answers and I think they are an awesome way to promote readers interaction and I love them because I get some link love back…which is what we all want. :)

i think it’s a good idea because it helps to keep the conversation going between the blogger and his or her readers. and it’s one way for readers to direct the author to topics they’re most interested in. makes readers feel more appreciated and significant as well.
