Remember my poll last Thursday? So if not, here it is — Are You Still Using EntreCard. As I have said, it will end this day and the poll is now actually officially closed. I have gathered only 18 votes. Does this mean that people are now not interested with EntreCard related blog posts? Let us see and here’s the result..

[poll id="1" type="result"]

You can see that bloggers that are not anymore using EntreCard or never used it ever since is dominating the poll. What’s happening Mr. EntreCard? Are you dying?

Anyway, here are some good comments from the poll:

Ryan McLean: I have never used entrecard and i don’t think I will ever be bothered using it. It seems like a complete waste of time to me.

Matt: Quite simply I don’t use it anymore because I didn’t see any tangible results from it.

Arseniy: I use entrecard because my blog is just starter and it’s getting not much visitors actually and it’s important to get at least somebody to see it.

hinlalato: I once used entrecard. I didn’t like it. that was my first few months of blogging. that is why maybe the owner wanted to get rid of it and actually selling it at ebay :D
Angel Cuala: I was an active of EC from Dec till last month, but only for my blogspot blogs. I decided to leave them because I felt that more and more members are getting greedy to earn more points and they become uncontrollable, which cause my bounce rate to be higher and higher. I LOVED Entrecard because it is there where I met a lot of fellow bloggers which eventually became my virtual friends. I even made my Farewell post telling them that I will subscribe to them, and I did. Now, I know who are the members of EC who are really reading my posts because they subscribe to me too.

Adam: I junked entrecard last week as it doesn’t help build many relationships and their changes make building a ton of credits up pointless.

Ava: I use Entrecard mainly for networking. It makes it easy to find blogs in my niche. I don’t do a lot of card dropping and never really have. I have used it with various blogs over the last year. The site is really so as of late, so it’s kind of a pain to use…but I have my friends and that’s all I really use it for. It would be nice to see a site like Entrecard that was just for networking with other bloggers. I’m sure there may already be one out there.

Blog for Beginners: I just took it off from blog two days ago as I don’t see much of a benefit in terms of traffic. Besides, anyone with a few EC credit could easily book a space on blog which in turn isn’t that fair to the other advertisers.

Dennis Edell: I do and will. I never looked at it for direct traffic, that’s just a bonus. I saw it from the beginning for what it is…one of the best networking tools out there…for free anyway.

M. Pence: I quit using Entrecard and removed their widget when it began slowing down. There were days where it took forever to load, and some days where the widget on my side didn’t load properly, or at all. The other issue was that, when it cost more than 4 credits to advertise on my blog–no one was interested. As soon as the price dropped, I have an overwhelming amount of advertisers wanting to place an ad on my widget. The thing about that was–most of these ads dropped were by the most popular blogs in a given niche. I don’t…really think that’s fair. So yeah, I dropped Entrecard for 2phatgeeks. I may use it for side blogs, but I definitely don’t recommend it for major blogs or blogs you’re trying to turn into a major blog.

Ajith Edassery: I never used it and do not plan to use it in the future as well… I doubt whether entrecard or similar systems will bring in any good quality traffic. Though entrecard trading and gifting has become a huge hit, I am sure it will stop soon…

Dot Com Dud: I still use it. I think it works well for the sort of blog I have but if it was a different niche, I don’t think it would work as well. There is no doubt room to improve the Entrecard system though.

Conclusion

Majority are not anymore using entrecard but there are still some who are enjoying it. The most reason of them is that they don’t get a good response from EntreCard. Some said that it still help to generate traffic but some said it gives unqiality traffic. It seems that it is so hard to decide of EntreCard is a good tool or not.

To those who are still using EntreCard for traffic, why not try blog commenting. Blog commenting is even better than dropping EC. I know you an find friends in EntreCard but believe me, you will even find MORE friends in the comment community.

Seems like people like entrecard for networking. I think next time you do a poll you should have a system where you can vote, not just vote in the comments section.
    Interesting poll though

No problem buddy. BTW, there will be a poll again next time. I will think first of a good topic :)

Nice analysis.. Entrecard is really getting better these days.

I am having it only on my Homepage, so I don’t think that will be any problem for my other advertisers.

And you are right that, commenting is more powerful than Entrecard type of networking :)

I didn’t have a chance to vote, but yes I am still using them. I find it’s a great way to get some free points and traffic without having to place a larger ad. It’s a pretty small widget and it doesn’t really bother me or my readers, so why not?

interesting. i just started using entrecard a day or two ago. :D
i signed up mostly because i go around a lot of blogs commenting, and i noticed that many of the blogs i visit have entrecard drop slots. at least this way, when i visit one of these blogs, i can do a little something for the blogger, aside from bumping up his or her traffic by 1. :)

  11. M, Pence says:

    Heya, thanks for that!

And really, if you want a quick way to drive traffic to your blog, Entrecard certainly isn’t a bad way of doing it.

It’s just, like a lot of things, it works for some bloggers and not for others. My bounce rate went through the roof and while I met and was able to favorite some really great blogs, I just felt it wasn’t helping my site.

I can see where it can still be pretty sweet for others!

  14. Ava says:

I’ve since stopped using Entrecard and am now networking other ways. I don’t even miss the traffic. Thanks for the great post…and link back.

  15. Dot Com Dud says:

Thanks for including me. It seems like there is a lot of backlash against Entrecard right now, I’m going to stick with it though. The amount of effort I put into might decrease though.
