NAME.com - Pricing Changes
NAME.com is very popular of their very cheap domain registration. I have registred several .com domains on them worth $5.99 each. It is very worth it to buy domains on them because it is not only cheap but there is also free whois privacy. Imagine how cheap it is compare to other domain registrar.
Unfortunately, there is an announcement from NAME.com that there will be a price change.
For approximately a year Name.com has been leading the industry with a $5.99 .com price.
Later this month our costs will rise again for .com, .net and a variety of other TLD extensions. We’re taking this opportunity to let you know that we’ll be raising our prices as well.
Beginning September 12, 2008 our .com registration price will be $7.99.
Other price points may be adjusted at this time as well, but we’ve not yet made a determination.
Name.com will continue to offer the best value in domain name registrations, with free whois and bundled Gmail for your domains. Look for additional products and services throughout the coming year.
Though they had changed their pricing, it is still cheap compare to others. I still love registering domain on them. What I would suggest is you must now register domain as much as you can before September 12, 2008. Remember that it is still worth it to buy domain even if you don’t know what to do with it.

Spewing this sucks. Lucky I just bought a load of domain names for the $5.99 price to make websites and sell them. This should last me a little while…
Although the price increase isn’t much considering the amount of profit you can make by domain/website flipping, it still comes to me as a surprise since prices are supposed to decrease over time, not increase.

yeah if you’re flipping sites than a $2 price hike isn’t going to make much difference… unless you’re selling your sites for $10 each.

$5.99 with a domain privacy is a real steal and I think it’’s the cheapest I could have ever came across. I might be wrong…
