Guess what! I have started a niche site. I got 2 niche ideas. But let me show you only the first one as the 2nd one is not yet done. You all know that this blog is hosted by Hostgator and I am try to promote Hostgator and make some profit from their affiliate program. It’s been a long time since I put my Hostgator affiliate links here and did you know that I still don’t have any referrals?
A lot of bloggers make money from Hostgator’s affiliate program and even though I still don’t have any referrals, I believe that I can also make hundreds of money from Hostgator. So the first niche I have chosen is Hostgator.
- I bought a domain name from name.com which cost only $5.99 (HostgatorFans.com)
- I hosted the domain at Hostgator to prove that I am really a fan of Hostgator.
- I installed WordPress.
- I installed Hostgator affiliate banner and links.
What will I do next?
- Promote the blog.
- Rank the blog to Google search engine with different keywords related to web hosting and Hostgator.
My goal
- I need to gather referrals to make awesome profit.
I am not sure if I will succeed with this but I will do my best. If others can do it, I believe I can do the same also.
Did I make the right choice and steps? Please help me. I got few knowledge about this type of internet marketing. What are the things I need to do in order to succeed here?

gather referrals to make awesome profit!!
Good lucke to you!

One thing I do when I launch a niche site is choose keywords BEFORE I start the site.
So if I find out that “Hostgator Hosting” gets 1000 searches a day but “best web host signup” gets 100,000 searches a day I make the site bestwebhostsignup.com instead of hostgatorhosting.com to get that little bit of extra keyword juice in the domain name.
For wordpress you want to install the following plugins
1. All In One SEO Plugin
2. Google XML Sitemaps
3. Technorati Tags Plugin
4. AddThis!
It looks to me like you really need to do some keyword research related to Hostgator and hosting in general. Then post blogs with those keywords in the title of the post and in the body of the post. This will help immensely.
these will help optimize for SEO

Wow, you want to compete others in hostgator affiliates? Good luck, dude..
I’ve seen so many blogs about hostgator and definitely as what green tea said, you need to buck up on your SEO things.
Well, i’m not the right person to justify on what you want to do since i don’t have any niche site, but you have given me an idea to create one..
Thanks Hussein and GDT..!!

@Green Diet Tea: I did actually keyword research. But no to so much for this hostgator site I made. I know hostgator review, hostgator coupons, etc etc got only few searches each day. But as I have seen the competetion, I am confident that can reach the first page and get some referral.
I just need to have more link building to achieve that and I might buy sponsored post soon I got extra money.
Thanks for the kind words.
im thinking of starting my own niche sites soon. thanks for the heads up. watching this blog every now and then.

@Lucas: I buy links in DP and I do have other blogs in differnet IP and I add my links there.
@Hussein: Great plan, but I doubt that just buying a few links would take your site to the first page of Google. May I know how much you plan to spend on links?
Lucas´s last blog post..Question and Answer Time (10 Sep 2008) - Answers
@Lucas: I don’t think this niche need lots of effort in SEO since it has low competition. I might only spend $20 for this and the rest will be on free method
Hmmm.. Not bad.. actually I’ve been thinking of doing this as well.. but the hard thing is promoting it.. I am so bad at promoting.. But it looks improving because my Pr has just turned to Pr 3 i checked your PR and it’s 0 It seems that u did something wrong in the past hehe.. they still not forgiving you google is so hard to forgive.. ^.^

any update on this?
Acai Berry Side Effects´s last blog post..Acai Capsules
First of all I would like to say that the niche you’ve chosen is very competitive cos everybody is already earning from hosting affiliate sites. So, you have to do some serious link building for getting on the 1st page of google for the related keywords. My suggestions do blog commenting, forum posting and social bookmarking. If you have money then you may also try PPC programs like adwords etc.
My best wishes with you!
@Acai Berry Side Effects: ask hussein
but what i think is there are no updates yet
everything are still the same ^>^

Thanks for an update!
Freddie´s last blog post..Quote of the Week: Adversity
@Freddie: I think this blog (Hostgatorfans.com) I have created did not work good. I failed to manage it. But I’m still hoping that it will give me good conversion.
The other niche is health blog. I will be launching it soon.
Since I am a nursing student, I will be blogging about the things I am learning from school.
@Escoofield: Good to hear that.

The payout from Hostgator is very generous but the conversion rates were very low for me when I tried to promote it.
yep, i’m thinking about starting a couple of niche sites too.
I’m noticing that niche sites not related to Internet Marketing have higher CTR.
good luck!
