Google Going To Buy Digital Point
I thought is a news but after I clicked the link in Digital Point forums, it is just only a fool. Imagine, he said that Google sent him a mail and informing that Google will be buying Digital Point for $500.
We know that it will be impossible for Digital Point admins to sell their site for only $500. But let us remove that price. We all know that Google already bought some big websites like YouTube. Do you think that there will a chance that Google will buy Digital Point? If yes, why do you say so and what do you think will be the price. And if no, nothing just say no.

No i don;t think google should by DP , why? because DP is not big enough for google to buy, DP is only target for some people webmaster.
comparing to youtub it has wild rang of people
I highly doubt this would ever happen.

If I were the owner of DP, I would not sell it, as it has tremendous potential to become really big. At the same time, as they work on shared Google AdSense income, perhaps nobody would buy it.
And if I were Eric Schmidt of Google, I wouldn’t even care about buying a forum! Perhaps, even better proposition would be to buy a free mail service or a social networking site with 500,000 users.
Cheers,
Ajith
No I don’t think they would. It would be a good buy because google could turn it around (i hear it has been going downhill lately), but I don’t think they would because its just too much more and not worth it.
They would definately make it awesome though..its too niche for google
I tried looking at the link and it idn’t go no where.
I realy don’t think they would sell it anyways not for $500. If that was the case i’d buy it myself and offer $1000 haha

Yeah I don’t see any reason Google would be interested in DP. It just would make no sense. Google is into making sites, products and apps that cater to everyone in the world.
why would they want a webmaster forum?

There are batter forums i know doing great (compared to DP)
while DP is not even closes competitor of those forums
and any way if Google really want to buy one more site they will invest in batter portals or blogs rather then DP

Nah. Google would never buy Digital Point. If they wanted to run a webmaster community, they could just launch one themselves, announce it via their blog, and they’d have thousands joined and talking on the first day.

Google wouldn’t buy a damn thing unless it was going to make a major impact on their business. They buy things like… uh.. you know, YOUTUBE.
lol

Google will give a shit to a place where spammers rule!
Listen, I wouldn’t put ANYTHING past Google, you know. They always seem to have their own (ulterior) motives. You just never know.
Even if it were true, I don’t think Google would ever offer $500 for DP. And I don’t think DP would accept. That’s way too low. There are some people on DP that make more than that in a week (apparently).
It’s a rumour but maybe one day DP might decide to sell up anyway and move on to pastures new. Who knows?
I havethe same comment as Jim that comparing YouTube and DP is now where near.YouTube’s mass appeal is nearly same Google itself.
I really don’t think they would sell it.. dp has a future.. the real thing is i never heard or visited DP.. which means it is new to me.. Google can make their own forum and advertise it as many as they want what do they see in DP?..for me i don’t see any good thing in DP.. How do i pronounce DP?.. Hmmm LOL !
