5 Tools I Use For Search Engine Optimization

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a professional way of promoting your blog, website, product and/or service. And do you know what is the novice way? It’s PPC or Pay Per Click. I will try to explain in some other time why SEO is a professional way and PPC a novice way.

Here are the top 5 FREE tools I use:

  1. SEO Book Keyword Suggestion Tool - I do really love this tool. It is free to use by everybody. Even though it is free, it still look like a premium tool because of an awesome service. From the name itself, it is a keywoird suggestion tool. You type a keyword and hit enter and seobook will give you list of high traffic related keywords with estimated number of searches from Google and Yahoo. If you don’t understand me, just try it to understand it by yourself.
  2. Google Trends - I use this tool to analyze keyword traffic. This tool helps you to know how does the keyword perform during the previous days, weeks, month, or year and what country does the keyword is hot. You can also compare keywords here and know which keyword is better.
  3. SocialMarker - With socialmarker, you can easily submit bookmarks to different social bookmarking sites.
  4. Forum Signatures - Though I think it is not yet proven that adding your link in your forum signature can help in search engine optimization, I still add my seo campaign there. Take advantage from your forum signature especially in Digital Point and other big forums don’t waste them by just leaving it empty.
  5. Blogs - I don’t pay anyone to link to my site. I have set up blogs from WordPress.com and Blogger.com and do my own link building there and it really works. Why pay if you can do it by yourself. Don’t worry WordPress.com and Blogger.com have different IP. Also, if you can ask your friends to give you free backlink in their footer then why not. Blog commenting in dofollow blogs also work in SEO. If you use your keyword as your name and worrying if it will be approved by the blogger, read this post and know if it will be approved or not.

As you may notice I use only free tools. Yes they are free but they are really effective. There’s nothing impossible in search engine optimization. What you just need to be able to succeed here is time and effort. If you will ask me if I have already succeed here, then I’ll answer yes. I have done some SEO experiment using adult keywords and it really gives me a lot of money. I have reached the 1st page and rank next to the real website of the adult keyword. If you want to know what keyword is that, browse my archive page :D

I have spent almost no time focusing on keywords with my blog. My topics vary so much from day to day unless I am targeting keywords it wouldn’t work. And doing keyword research on every article would take forever.

Up to now, I can’t use google trends the way I wanteed it.

  10. I am not much into keyword search for a post, your post should have originality, only keywords can’t draw traffic, i have neither checked socialmarker should give it a try.

  11. Mitch says:

Truthfully, I’ve never thought about using Google Trends, so I’m going to have to give that a try at some point.

Just using forum signatures might not get it done, but offering constructive responses and asking questions from time to time certainly can help.

Yes it is. It is like submitting manually to social bookmarking site. It’s just that they help you to make it easier and faster.

  18. Andrew says:

I always feel kind of tacky using my keyword as my name when making comments. From my experience if you can find keywords with low competition your backlink anchors really don’t matter as much. If you haven’t already, check out this report on SEOmoz:
